Swan Valhalla - Log 11 - Sea legs lost!

The night held more continuous torrential rain, choppy seas, and we are now all very damp! Some of the crew hadn't quite got the sea legs they thought they once had.. It was a pretty rocky nights sleep and treacherous for those on shift, with winds gusting up to 30 knots! On a positive note we got some good speed and travelled about 200 miles in 24 hours.

We awoke for Haig's big birthday, and Victoria painted yet another beautiful card with a hammerhead shark on the front. The sea began to calm a little, and the sun came out - things were on the up! We have, however, had a few squalls - one of which Victoria and I took advantage of and had a nice rain shower on deck. Yoyo has baked some more delicious bread and I think flambĂ© banana pancakes may be on the menu again tonight for Haig's birthday supper.

The wind has now reduced to 12 knots, and unfortunately it is coming from the west which is directly where we want to go. Haig, our weatherman, has informed us that we should finally be getting these infamous trade winds in a couple of days - hopefully this will mean wind behind us and sunshine forever more!
