Santa Maria - Leaving the ARC Baltic fleet

Having seen every part of Bornholm, looking at the weather forecast, knowing that we would belong to the last boats, when the fleet finally would leave harbor, we were eager to leave Rønne.
Altogether it was clear that we would leave Rønne Friday morning, another important aspect, was the World Cup final in Rio on Sunday. Thus we were looking for a harbor with flat screen on Sunday evening. The passage was dominated by sunny weather and strong winds, and as we reached the right longitude, we went straight north and arrived Hanö in the loveliest sunset, the whole crew was enjoying the passage, we were pleased to meet Salt and buoyed alongside.

06:20 we left direction east around 15:00 the rain set in, the wind was still frisk which made up for Neptune's change of mood, for a while. At 21:45 we reached Sandhamn, to harbor we were to set a spring line which I did, this was not enough.

I needed to be the spring boy, so I took one step to land, the next step did not find land as expected, I was not prepared for the extra 10 cm, under pain I managed to make a spectacular judo roll. Our arrival was too late for harbour office, but the burger stand was still open till 22:00.

As I stood in the burger stand I had to make a decision concerning the crew's wellness, and ordered a burger for the seven members of the crew. As I came back to the yacht, none of the crew was ready to follow my initiative, now I have a doggy-bag with burgers for the following days, and no will to take any decisions anymore.

My jump for the man kind, has put forth an important decision, at moment I got the job to fill our onboard blog, until my swollen knee has recovered.

In the next days, after the wc- final, we hope to team up with the rest of the fleet again under better weather conditions, hopefully in visby.

Regards
Erik
