Sweet Dreams is a one off design by Bill Dixon, built by husband and wife team Roz and John Preston together with former students and lecturers from Lyme Regis Boat Building Academy. Her construction is cove and bead strip plank in Western Yellowfins Cedar on laminated spell frames, topped 3 layers of khaya mahogany veneer, with a layer of glass for impact protection and finished with Ivory Awl Grip. Her topsides are varnished teak. Launched in September 2007, she has covered 25,000 miles mostly in Northern waters including the Channel, The Scillies,The Irish Sea, the Western Isles of Scotland, Orkney and Shetland Norway, The Baltic, the West Coast of France and the South and West coasts of Ireland. Since the sudden death of her skipper, John Preston in 2007, Sweet Dreams is now sailed by Roz with the help of skipper Ed Phillips who was part of the building team. Dick Phillips, former head the boatbuilding course at Falmouth College and of Lyme Regis BBA is also a member of the crew.
