We left Porto Santo on Saturday 12th October just
before midday after giving up on the invisible fuel lorry! Very light NE wind so relaxed on deck in the
sunshine. Spent the evening with a
G&T watching the sun set – a perfect evening at sea.
The wind was still light on Sunday so we enjoyed scrambled
eggs and bacon etc for breakfast before hoisting the cruising chute which
stayed up until the evening.
During Monday the wind began to build finally reaching a
southerly 22.3 knots in the evening with roller-coaster waves to match! Quite
tricky to steer and avoid gybing (but there were a few!), land was in
sight.
We entered Las Palmas at 5am on Tuesday morning not having
slept very much but pleased to have arrived, logging 2000 nm since leaving Torquay.
Christopher and I have returned home for a week or two
leaving Shenanigan and Brian in glorious sunshine with a list of jobs!
