Abraxas - 23/11/13 Pre Adventure Day
So, here we are – all six of us now on board and managed to finish all of
the jobs on the list. These included a final rig check, hull scrub, gel
coat repairs, fuel top up, running the safety lines and how could we forget
stowing the 12 metric tonnes of apples and oranges that Karen had ordered
for the adventure in front of us. What an adventure it is going to be too
– 2,800nm, the only sailing instructions to leave gran canaria to starboard and
st lucia to port!! We are a totally dry boat, not even allowed cheap
gin to kill the fish, so today I bought a gaff (long pole with a hook) for
bringing the fish on board. I also invested in some heavy duty fishing
tackle which will are told should attract the dorado and tuna fish.
As we type this first blog, we prepare to eat ashore for the last time in
approx 3 weeks (we hope).
Nick and the rest of the team.
