Albatros - ALBATROS Day 3

Day 3, Nov 26th

With cheering people and a brass band on the peer H17 in Muelle Deportivo we crossed the starting line at nov 24, 1pm just outside of the marina. With a nice breeze began our adventure heading to Saint Lucia.

In the meantime the first 2 nights are behind us and we get more and more adjusted to the boat, the waves, the team.

Yesterday we were welcomed by a few dolphins joining us for a few minutes along the boat. The handreel with the fishing line didn´t bring any results yet. The last night was pretty dark due to the clouds and the disappearing moon.

With a compass course of 240 degrees we were cruising through the dark night. We were able to spot about 5 other boats around us. The wind around 10knots, the waves and the darkness made it pretty challenging to hold the course. The shifts are assigned. 2 people with 3 hours shift during the night, 4 hours during the daylight.

Today we are cruising with an average speed between 8-9 knots and increasing outside temperatures. It seems that we picked up the Passat. We are running the full main sail and the genoa in butterfly.
