Nothing
to do with the waves -
the sea is very smooth – but ups and downs on
board.
Good progress overnight and friendly winds. We hoisted the cruising chute
this afternoon as the winds lightened. The forecast is not so friendly
though.
Major down is the loss of the watermaker – we thought it repaired but it’s
now indefinitely out of action.
A quick tally shows several hundred litres in the tanks and 140 litres in
bottles.
So: plenty to drink but no showers – and we have masses of baby
wipes!!
We are washing up with salt water and using a spray to rinse in fresh
water. Slightly inconvenient but it works fine.
One a lighter note we commissioned the fishing rig and got a strike
within an hour – the line screamed away but then jammed on the reel.
We hauled in by hand but when the fish go near the boat it managed to break
the line and took the tackle too. Next time!
Must go now – Christopher is cooking Jamie Oliver’s Moroccan lamb for
supper.
