After the slow start to the day, things picked up well.
Some light clouds quickly cleared and we had bright sunshine all day. The
wind gradually veered and we ended up close hauled doing around 6 – 7 Kn in 10
Kn of breeze. Watermaker on for six hours, but only served to
replace the water we used during the day on showers and other domestics.
No fish today – not even a bite, so fish stew will have to wait. Chef
of he day was Andrej; saksuka (traditional Turkish dish) which followed
tortilla wraps mid afternoon. High standards are being set!!
Apart from a yacht on the distant horizon at dawn, we have seen no other
boats until 10 minutes ago, when a tanker travelling in the opposite direction
made a 5 degree course adjustment to pass us by.
Routing still looks difficult; grib files from MaxSea suggest a big
ho;e coming that we cannot avoid, while the MailASail grib files suggest we can
keep sailing if we follow the wind around to the West. The next two days
will show which is right!.
Now dark – we re putting the clocks back by 1 hour
tonight.
