Silver Slipper - Silver Slipper Day 5
Day 5 on the Silver Slipper. Sorry that we have been so
quiet onboard but we are having too much fun. At 09.47 this morning we had done
500 miles. Our course is very erratic if you are following us on yellow brick as
we are chasing the wind and intend to go south round the east of the Cape Verdes
and try and catch some Easterlies to St Lucia, a long way round but its where
the wind seems to be.
Although disappointed with the lack of wind and no sign
of the trade winds, we have managed to keep our spirits up by catching fish,
swimming in the Atlantic, candle light (torch) suppers becalmed as the sunsets,
flying kites off the stern, making silly home movies, learning to play the
guitar, cooking, telling jokes and generally having a great time. Not the sort
of sailing we had all planned and dreamed off but still a new experience and we
all intend to make it very memorable. Great to also receive messages from loved
ones back home, keep them coming please as they make us all smile. If someone
can share this on FB so all our friends and family can read our blog it’s
appreciated. Hope the other ARC boats are all ok, See you in St
Lucia.
