A pretty uneventful day. We are motoring in about three knots of Northerly
true wind. The sea has a gentle swell but an alluring smoothness. We have
positioned ourselves as one of the southernmost yachts. This is interesting
because the bulk of the fleet is currently experiencing Westerly headwinds to
the North of us. According to our forecasts we should start to benefit from
trade winds in a couple of days. Those to the North may not be so lucky so there
is everything to play for. Such are the obsessions which begin to take hold when
one has been isolated from the rest of the world for all of a week.
The gastronomic highlight was provided by Jonathan and consisted of a roast
shoulder of lamb with garlic and harissa (under the supervision of Iain). We are
now about to watch a DVD ‘Tell No One’.
