Log Day 10 –
Stardust
Due to circumstances beyond our
control, the last few blogs did not send on time and we are still having
problems sending our marvellous photos.
We have come to the conclusion that the computer is tired of Fabio
sneaking his way into all the pictures!
The last 24 hours has been truly
glorious, hot sunshine, clear skies and calm seas. The stars last night were breath-taking,
we all spent most of our night watches staring at the skies in awe, the only
light pollution our own navigation lights.
Jan seemed to be especially mesmerised as he made the call to change
course to avoid a particularly low and bright star, mistaking it for a mast
light. The ambience of the night
was perfectly sound tracked by David’s ipod, which I have personally voted top
of the pops.
We are now heading downwind pretty
much straight for St Lucia and so this morning we raised the spinnaker for the
first time. We were lucky to have
had very light winds whilst we all got the hang of it, and are now hoping things
will pick up a bit so we can start ticking off those miles to the finish and
that first cold beer or rum punch.
Only another 1700 miles to go!!
