Tatt av Vinden - 16:37N 033:32W Tatt av vinden at noon 12 days out - No more genaker, but enough fish

We are sailing in 10 knots of wind, genoa and cutter. Slowly with course for StLucia. We are still 1580 nm from the finish line. Nice weather, nice most, except for very little wind.

 

We sailed for three days with genaker, then the alyard broke. The new arrangement was no good. The thoughts I sent my rigger back home are not worth publishing. OK, with more wind we shall make ok speed. In 2008 we only sailed for four hours before the halyard broke, so a little improvement after all. The the original arrangement by Jeanneau was to blame that year.

The pole for the genoa also broke, but just the fittings in the end, so we easily improvised a replacement.

 

We have more luck with fishing! Today, just after half an hour with the lure in the water, we had a nice dorado. Plenty for bouliabaise for dinner.
