Well its been a busy boat on Xanadu we have been super busy thus no time to
blog.
The crew are all in tip top shape and all still laughing and joking; it is
a real pleasure to be sailing on this boat.
I can report that all heads are in working order still. Though an emergency
repair had to be carried out on the pole end as when we gybed it would not
deploy the pin that locks in the guy. Andy and Iain where straight on it and
fixed in 15mins.
The other day we saw a whale early morning was some sight he/she crossed
about 1/2 mile in front of us. it was breath taking.
Fish are still flying and numerous are found on the bow in the morning.
Our evenings seem to be the busiest with spinnaker changes and the odd gybe
in the dark always entertaining and something to get your adrenaline running.
Iain doing a fantastic job as always plugging in the new spinnakers. We had a
close wrap the other night of a kite round the forestay and Iain the human
tractor saved the day. He has also been a busy boy up checking the top of the
mast yesterday. Everything looking good up there.
Andy, Des and Alan have been really pushing hard on the miles with regards
to helming and in the last 18 hours we cover 168 n/miles averaging 11-12 knots
with the kite up. so we are flying along.
Once again thanks to family and friends who have been emailing us with
words of support and encouragement. Still find it amazing that I am in the
middle of the Atlantic and can send and receive emails. Also a big thanks to
Chris Tibbs who is helping us out with weather routing.
Over and Out
