Profile - half way party blog
The two sides continue the battles. Green Watch vs Dirty Watch. Whilst
Green continue a valiant and just battle to ensure an honourable and rewarding
passage, Dirty’s subversive tactics are antagonising the battle for justice,
sabotaging key boat equipment prior to Green appearing for watch, claiming credit
for all food delivery efforts, and generating fictitious speed records
(2,000,000 knots was the last reported fastest surf).
But we’re having our moment of parle – the half way party. A bottle of
champagne, panatone cake, and a bumper gift of chocolate from Tim and Ollie. All
historic and future conflicts and differences momentarily parked to celebrate a
truly epic achievement: the half way mark (not distance, likely not time (who
would know!?!) but certainly mentally). The furthest many of us have ever been
from land in terms of distance travelled. And a lot of learning to get
there.
But the party is over, the watch (the best one, Green; honourable and fair)
are back on the helm, guiding us to the near certain safety (bar mosquitoes,
cars, bars and the like) of dry land.
Here’s Profile, signing out for another day.
Until tomorrow,
goodbye.
