OMG !! The whales escorted us across the Atlantic for most of the day. We
think they were Blainville’s Beaked whales and they seemed to love the rattling
mirrored teasers. They played like dolphins surfing the waves, circling the boat
and zooming around, breaching beside the boat and lying on their side checking
us out. One even surfed between the hulls. Parasailed all day and night in light
easterly trade winds and reducing swell. Got smoked again by a Mahi Mahi at 8
knots and lost another of Mikes pink skirts. I’m thinking a bit of line
maintenance may need to be done !! Now we have the BIG rods out so no excuses.
Enjoying the sunshine and had our first Atlantic salt water shower on the front
of the boat courtesy of the captain spraying us down after we soaped up. Crossed
the 20 deg lat line and only 1200nm to go !! The time difference between Las
Palmas and Saint Lucia is 4 hours. So ...... how do 4 people in the middle of
the ocean agree on how and when to change the time. After much scientific
discussion (haha) we agreed to take the hit in one go, and moved our clocks 4
hours backwards. Dawn was at 4.30am today ... grrrrr but Floss was on watch and
loved
it.
