It's been a solid 24 hours, with reasonably
consistent winds, covering 160 miles.....and its dawned a beautiful warm sunny
day....the girls have even donned bikini's. It has taken a few
attempts but we appear to have finally resolved our chafe issue on the
pole....so hopefully no further trips up the forestay. We didn't catch any
fish yesterday, unless you count the large flying fish that landed in the
cockpit on Amanda's watch! There was a disproportionate amount of attention
given to the hanging out of the skippers washed 'smalls'.....apparently it was a
sure fire way of getting an indication of how many days of the voyage
remained....crucial clues for our arrival time sweepstake! Dinner was a beef
strogonoff, followed by mini Magnums. It would appear our provisioning is
looking good, as the peppers were in good shape and we still have a couple of
good lettuces.
Today is the anniversary of the discovery of the
crewless 'Marie Celeste in 1872.....as well as being the tragic day when Led
Zepellin broke up in 1980.....so much to celebrate today there. However,
Amanda's Advent calendars produced a cat (looks a bit like a turkey to me) and a
party hat. We're all dreading the (imminent) day when we wake up to her putting
on the first Christmas music.....I guess we'll have to start the Stollen
then.....
