Morning Haze - Sailor Ted's journey continue (day 15 and 16)

Good morning to you all,
Finally the wind pick up on the evening of the 7th and the sail are not flapping against the rig anymore! This morning (day 15) Morning Haze is sailing along nicely on a broad reach although not exactly on target as our B&R rig prevents downwind sailing. So we will have to "tack our way down". This will obviously increase our mileage but it's strange... we don't care as we are enjoying the ride! In the evening we met again with Cygnus Pena and David was able to speak with Carsten the skipper, in order to get the weather forecast...it had been a few days and it's nice to know what is ahead of us. We were happy to know that everybody is fine aboard Cygnus Pena. When we left Las Palmas, David and Carsten made a bet for a fishing contest between the two boats...so we inquired and as of now the score is 9-2 in favor of Morning Haze! (even though we had to stop fishing 4 days ago)...If it stays like this Carsten is going buy the next round!
Day 16 was just a beautiful day at sea except for the endless train of squalls passing over us! We had to start the engine (not in gear Andrew!) to charge both our battery bank as the lack of sun during the day did not permit proper charging. In the afternoon, after the usual water sample collection, Rebecca and Demi showed me how to make a "sailor's wrist band" out of nylon braided rope and a stainless shackle. Now everybody on board Morning Haze wears one...even me! On the evening watch with David, we witnessed the most beautiful "sky full of stars"!...mmm...let me think...Isn't that a song from Coldplay? Let me go get my Ipod...
