Celebrate - "Nautical Slip and Slide"
NAUTICAL SLIP AND SLIDE by Jay Ailworth
The wind blows steadily over the wind without fail,
At last the joy of a true downwind sail.
The mainsail sheeted out and straining to starboard,
While the poled out jib makes a triangle to larboard.
The boat has an easy motion side to side,
The twists and turns are easy to abide.
The bow responds to each rise and fall,
The wind at the stern becomes a sirens call.
Gaining momentum on each an every crest,
This is sailing at its best.
This is not quite a roller coaster ride,
But what comes to mind is seagoing slip and slide.
