Today from Carole's perspctive
What a beautiful day! The sun is out, the sky
is blue, the sea is blue and calm but ....we have no wind. There is less
than 200 miles togo to Bermuda but with under 5 knots of wind it is going to
take forever....there is nothing for it but to switch on the engne to propel us
on our way. What a shame...but if the wind picks up a little later we
might try again with beautiful Mr Parasailor.
So now it is time to do those things which are
impossible when the boat is tossing every one and everything it can all over the
place. It's on days like these that one comes to appreciate the
simple pleasures in life.....like just being able to stand up without holding on
for dear life!!
So the boat has been cleaned, the washing hung out
to dry and the fishing rods are out in the hope of a catch for dinner
tonight. And, there is always something to do on the boat. Today is a
day for pumping out the water which has accumulated in the anchor locker.
The other compartments for the bow thruster and windlass are now completely
dried out. So now the problem is to find out why the water is not draining
out of the anchor locker?? Has the sump pump broken?? Is there a
sump pump?? No!!!! Just a blocked drain? Well then why
don't you just unblock it? Yeah!! Problem fixed!!
Well there we are, it is still a beautiful
day. Time to think about that salad Nicoise for lunch.
