STILL NO FISH!
180nm @ average 7.5kt is pretty good going. Conditions are unchanged with winds between 16 and 26kt, steady from the NE, allowing us to stay very near on track for Mindelo. Weather in the next few days suggests decreasing winds starting tomorrow afternoon, so we are probably going to start hoisting the gennaker at some stage. Currently we are still on genoa and mainsail, sometimes reefed, sometimes not.
Bernd tells us that we are roughly in 12th position out of more than 60 – not too shabby. Dave keeps repeating regularly how well Mojeka sails.
Everyone is well and even Monique is up and about and currently engaged in preparing the desert for tonight’s dinner. Others have had showers and all in all we are settling in nicely into a unstressed routine.
Except: there are no fish!
George claims that he knows where they are (off to starboard) and that it is the skippers fault that we don’t get them just because he refuses to change course.
