Eventful first 24 hours with up to 39knt winds, 8m swell and our main sail
preventer failed, causing the main sheet carriages to come off. Luckily it
happened just before dusk, so we were able to do a temporary fix.
The night shift of Richard, Charlie and Paul managed to fix it, but we
haven’t been able to raise the main sail yet, due to the conditions.
Bags and other things were flying around a fair bit in the night! We woke
to bacon butties this morning made by Catrin and Paul.
We’ve covered 175nm in the first 24 hours which everyone’s really happy
with.
Too rough to type any more, so Why Not are signing
off!
