Today
is the day we decided to start our Christmas calendar. The reason for that is
because in 25 days, my mother is leaving us for a few weeks because of work. So
it’s partly so that she doesn’t miss out on the very precious tradition of the
Christmas calendar, and partly because it’s our 9th day at sea and we
are really starting to run out of jokes. The way it works, is that we each have
two gifts for everyone, so that we’ll have 24 in total, which of course would
make more sense if we started on the 1st. But anyway, whoever’s day
it is to do the dishes also has her turn to get a gift, so they kind of
compensate. We are all probably more excited about this than the normal amount,
but then again who said we were ever normal.
Today
it was my day to do the dishes, so I got to have the first go with the calendar.
I got a USB-fan with disco lights, with love from Reidun. So while I sit down
here in this joyous heat, writing logs – I now have a fan that provides me with
air-condition and a party. Not too
shabby for Lene.
Another thing we did today was swapping watch-teams.
Capskip and Reidun are now on the day- and night watch, I’m still on the morning
and evening one – but now together with my sister. Who by the way managed to
start the day with a little action, by leaving an open box of cereal on the
kitchen counter. The hidden spots of tomatoes that have been without company
until now were very excited about this.
