PG Roshni - 28/11 1150 Clunk

14:40.5N 54:26.9W

Had a bit of sleep this morning following the early watch so feeling relatively sparky even though I was woken up by the din of Walk of Life (the absolute worst Dire Straights track ever) blasting out of the cockpit speaker above my port aft cabin. Having rescued the volume control I decided to see if we could locate the source of the mystery Clunking sound that originates from what seems the centre inside of the mast.
Gave all the shrouds a good tug, tested the bolts at the mast foot, tensioned a halyard or 2 to reduce the load, more backstay/less etc etc and still the noise persists. On the basis that it's been doing this noise since Biscay I don't think the rig is about to fall in...
Anyone has any ideas please let me know.
Trucking along with good breeze now on a direct line to St L, might have to gybe once close to the islands but running well atm.
All getting a bit more rest now but it looks like we are going to have plenty of fuel so we will start to make more use of Daisy and consequently Dave during the nights now as we have hopefully just 2 left to go :). Its easy to make mistakes when helming in the dark when tired, and we have all had an inadvertent megga flog or backing jib/main.
Susan did a splendid hove-to this morning when she turned off Daisy by mistake and Roshni came beautifully up into the wind and stopped ! Not sure its an ideal thing for the swanky carbon pole but no harm done in the light but sh..e breeze early this am.
In other news:
Nigel has just shown me a picture of me sewing with the needle very close to my tenderest parts, "you have to be careful in case you get a little prick". Charming.
Nigel is cooking today - should be a challenge with 1 onion and not much else.
Susan is making beer bread today - not sure it'll work as the cheap beers we have on board (for when we get in as we are dry boat) came from Cape Verdes and are probably full of chemical poisons rather than any yeast - bit like their meat :)

More drivel later - we are picking up pace now though by the fact I nearly dropped the ipad as Ali loaded the helm ... My go....
