Albatros - Nov. 28 at 7:41 pm

Albatros update: since yesterday, the wind has decreased markedly. We are now making about 6kn, luckily the direction is still pretty close to where we need to go. Occasional squalls make the day more interesting, and I have used the last one to rinse my body from the salt water. The salt water is warm enough, but getting the water on board with the bucket isn't much fun, especially if you are fast. In that case the bucket will just bounce of the water.

Life on board has normalized. Everybody gets tons of sleep, we have a plan for kitchen work now, and as far as I can tell nobody has issues with sea sickness anymore. Given that the waters are really peaceful with the little wind we have, that would be expected though. Some are reading newspapers, others play cards, and there seems to be at least one device of every kind of e-book reader ever produced on board. Everybody is relaxed. We are still trying to find the cake that we bought, it has to be somewhere on board... once we do find it we'll have plenty though

On the fishing front we have had no luck except for one flying fish that landed on deck. Given that the ones we see here are tiny, and 12 people would need to be fed, we spared the poor lads life and threw him back in.

Last night we did see another boat but couldn't identify her, maybe not one of the ARCs. For all we know, we are no longer in the top three, but given our situation with the spi that had to be expected.

Tomorrow we'll have less than half the distance yet to sail: Bergfest! Looking forward to that, but even more I hope we do get more wind again. [BK]
