With Wolfgang at the helm, we just crossed the 1000 (remaining) miles mark, yeah! The wind has picked up to 15kn and we make about 7kn of speed with the Passat sail configuration.
We gave up fishing since we have lost all suitable gear to the sea, and we still haven't found the scores of cake that we have stored somewhere on the boat.
This morning one of the ropes for our make-shift spi boom ripped when we were making good speed during a squall. We used the occasion to further improve our design. All works well.
Albatros Update (Part 2): we found the cake! It only took us eleven days. Probably a good thing given that we are still 983 nautical miles away from Saint Lucia. Doing 8kn now. Time for coffee!
