December 4th
Fish count remains on “2”
We are making good progress, continue sailing throughout the day and night, (no noisey engine), flying the Gollywobbler during the day and goosewinging during the night. The trade winds are blowing at a steady 20 knots. We have just 581 nautical miles to our destination. We can almost taste the rum punch on our lips, and hear the party atmosphere. We are hoping to arrive in St Lucia by Monday 7th lunch time or earlier.
Crew spirits are high as we sail nearer St Lucia, hotels and flights home are being booked.
Our fresh food has lasted very well, we have not started on the tinned food. The sandwich toaster works well for lunch and everyone likes the various combinations of ingredients.
A small number of baby flying fish have been found on the foredeck after the night watch.
Steve spotted what we believe to be the space station streaming across the dark early morning sky, with the sun glinting off of it.
Numerous shooting stars were spotted last night, in between several squalls.
Congratulations Galya on passing all your exams in India, enjoy your well earned rest, chill out for a few days on the beach, I look forward to seeing you on 11th Dec in Cyprus. Love Roy xxx
Tonights delicacy is Tuna, in pasta and tomato sauce with stuffed olives created by the lovely Suzi. Desert is chocolate pudding, and syrup sponge with custard, we will all come off this boat 2 kgs heavier.
Derek (Our skipper) drinks on average 4 cups of tea per watch, x 3 watches, that is a lot of tea. Mark (1st mate), searches the boats hidey holes for chocolate and biscuits.
Weather is lovely, blue skies and sunshine, everyone is in their shorts, shirt off, sun tan cream out, getting a tan
Thats all folks – signing off from Ocean Ventures crew
