Skyelark of London - Day 13

Day 13
We continued overnight with good speeds with another new sail configuration,
poled out headsail and staysail. This combination gave us good speeds all
night and dead on course for St Lucia although it was action stations this
morning when the winds started to die off a little in line with the
forecast. So at early morning watch change the mainsail was heaved back up
to keep us on track for what we hope will be a daylight arrival.
Generally a quiet day today - fishing has been suspended on account of a
mass of Sargasso weed surrounding us, so much reading and enjoying the sun
instead. A couple of ships were around this morning so nice to see some
signs of life and great excitement when we saw another yacht. However it was
another ARC imposter, Dexter.
At this evening's happy hour the impossible has finally happened. We have
run out of tonic, tonight the new cocktail is gin and juice - not sure if it
will catch on, but it certainly got drunk without too many problems. More
Dorado for tea this time with a tasty risotto and butternut squash twist. We
have certainly enjoyed some great food on this trip.
Looking forward to being back in St Lucia soon,
Em
