Luna Quest - 23rd March, 2016
Noon Position: 12.27N 61.29W
Run from Grenada: 48 logged miles
We chose yesterday to make the passage from Port Louis in Grenada to Carriacou on a forecast of 15 knots of wind from the East with a little southing in it. We set off at 07.15 from the marina in light rain and had fickle winds all the way up the west coast of Grenada with quite a few squalls giving us winds upto 25 knots and down to 5 knots, but as soon as we were past Grenada, the wind kicked in at around 20 knots from the East with a little northing in it, which sent us north rather than north east towards Carriacou. By 1pm we were level with Carriacou hidden in dense rain. We tacked, but could only make 170 degrees. It took us 4 hours to tack into Tyrrel Bay covering 7.5 miles due east, but at 4pm we could pick up a mooring buoy (EC30 per night), where we celebrated our circumnavigation once again with Shian (Paul and Janie) with a bottle of Moet & Chandon brought by Paul aboard Luna Quest.
