Adagio - Movie Madness, as it were.

Finally some wind this evening. I don;t know if we just hit it right on the head, or if we fell exactly into place with the progressing Hi pressure ridge, but it has been quite a run of light winds and smooth seas. It makes for a nice ride and enjoyable socializing but a tough choice of slow going or using engine hours. When we received the email briefing that the next weather feature we would experience would be a pretty strong LOW pressure system with some accompanying strong winds and higher waves it cemented our decision to make as much forward motion as possible. So, with our priorities rearranged we kept the engine running throughout the day and motor-sailed as quickly as possible for several extra hours. As of this writing we are sailing again because the winds have picked up again. I will say in advance that my best wishes go out to the sailors that are possibly going to be in the vicinity of the storm when it passes by and our crew sincerely hopes that everyone stays safe, if not comfortable in couple of days of impending heavy weather. Take good care out there, we'll see you in Horta!!

Now, on another note; I just want to note the obvious ... there are a lot of movies out there in the world. It seems that during the course of a few days of discussions we've discovered that there are a LOT of movies that we've seen that our crew have not and vice versa. I understand that ... to a point. But "Captain Ron" // ??? really???? You haven't seen "Captain Ron"?? I'm not exactly sure how to proceed here. Should we heave-to and have a movie night? Whatever we do, we have to rectify this situation before we set sail again! How were we to know that all our little quips and phrases were falling on ears that had no context? "If it's gonna happen, it's gonna happen out there!" That phrase alone is worthy of keeping at the ready at all times, but it isn't much good without the background information.

Yep, this has got to be fixed! And I might as well get it set with any other ARC Europe members that haven't seen the movie either; you should see it/ Keep in mind it's pure fun and not necessarily a really good training video. Nonetheless we've watched it a few time now and the sailing part is actually pretty good.

Maybe someone with a projection system could play it on their sail some evening :) Fun is basically any excuse for a nice sedaye party, yes??
