Paw Paw - Log Days 281 & 282: Another Beach Barbecue
Yesterday we woke to an overcast and somewhat rainy day, but the second round of stronger winds never really materialised, so Elaine took advantage of a quiet day and did the laundry in the afternoon, after spending the morning sifting through all the information provided by the All Points Rally, which we have joined for our passage to New Zealand.
As a result, we added a few additional waypoints to our route and finalised our Radio Schedule for weather and position reporting. Roy also took the time to replace our water tank, as well as improve the way in which the tanks are secured, in an effort to alleviate a reoccurrence of the problem.
We also enjoyed afternoon tea on Nina before returning to Paw Paw for dinner and a movie, given that the winds and rain eventually set in for the night.
This morning Roy was up early to make water, charge the batteries, clean the waterline and get Elaine out of bed for our paddleboarding excursion. We couldn't have asked for better condition; flat seas and calm winds. There was just one exception; it poured with rain the whole time. It was a load of fun though and Elaine can safely say that all items on her bucket list, with regard to sporting activities, are now complete.
This evening, under clearer skies, we enjoyed another beach barbecue with Nina at the Musket Cove Island Bar and Blue Summit joined us for after dinner drinks. A nightcap on Nina to warm us up topped off the day.
