Our arrival at Las Palmas
Hello to everyone! Greetings from the crew of Blue Magic First 40.7 - Nikola, Stojan, Nikolaj and Stanislav from Bulgaria.
We left port of Balchik, Bulgaria, on the 2nd
of October, destination Las Palmas for the participation in the ARC
2016. On the day of our departure we had a big party with lots of
friends and supporters organized at the sailing
club which boosted our enthusiasm in this adventure. Our overall travel
of 33 days to Las Palmas went quite smoothly. We enjoyed generally good
whether conditions. We stopped in some lovely places in Greece, Italy
and Spain before heading to the Canary Islands.
We even fished tuna near Sardinia, actually lots of tune which we ate
both cooked and raw. Dolphins greeted us along the way. More in detail,
starting from Balchik, we went south along the Bulgarian coast of the
Black Sea, then through the Strait of Boshpurus
in the Sea of Marmara, through the Strait of Dardanelles in the Aegean
Sea, through the Strait of Corinth in the Ionian Sea, through the Strait
of Messina (Sicily) in Tyrrhenian Sea, Mediterranean See, Gibraltar,
and finally in the Atlantic Ocean towards the
Canary Islands. We arrived in Las Palmas on the 5th of November at
00.55am, after 33 days and 2,767 miles of sailing. This was a great
opportunity for testing our First 40.7 before the start of the ARC 2016
on 20th of November and we must say that Blue Magic
performed excellently!
