Fleet II - Log Tuesday Nov 22nd - shall we use the engine?

Those following us will see that we made very little ground yesterday – all energy seems to have evaporated from the sky (unless you’re caught under a rainstorm when it’s pandemonium).  The seas are glassy smooth and even the wildlife seems to have gone to sleep, although we did have a small pod of dolphins come and inspect us this morning.  The weather forecast isn’t encouraging either; more of the same for too many days.  We now have to address the big question we didn’t want to – shall we pursue a sail only policy (at yesterday’s rate we’ll get to St Lucia just after Christmas) or use the engine to try to find some wind?  We’ll let you know soon!

This morning we found ourselves sailing close to the crew of Alderman, who were also sunbathing on deck, and had a great chat on VHF - we’ll look you up for a drink when we get there.  Also, very excitingly (well, for me anyway), I went for a swim ‘mid’ Atlantic.  Another one ticked off the list!
