A truly memorable 2 days: becalmed one day and F7 the next with very little
warning. We were shaken our of our comfort zone as the boat began to rattle and
the sea to roll. But it did feel good to be on the move again.
We are beginning to settle into a daily routine. We are still
concerned with the daily fruit discharge and are becoming creative with the
fruit and veg that isn’t surviving well. Quartermaster Cal and Ewen have a
morning inspection of the bilges, boxes and nets and remove any that is looking
dodgy. Yesterday the peppers were cooked in olive oil and balsamic and
will form bruschetta toppings at our sun-downers. Today the persimmons are being
lightly cooked and frozen for a crumble. The avocados are being
transformed into guacamole, and fajitas will be on tonight's menu.
Today our sea state is a little calmer – more the predictable roll of the
Atlantic. The sun is shining, the fishing rod is out and we have all
showered. Life is good.
