Spirit of Lusitania - Log Day One - Finally sailing
After so many days at Puerto Deportivo de La Luz, in Las Palmas de Gran Canária, we are going to do some sailing.
During all these past days, preparing the boat, meeting lots of nice people, sharing so many parties and "Sundowners", it is time to go. Final provisions stored and the last dinner out with all the crew, and next day is the start. We can even feel the anxiety and excitement in the air.
Impressive, at least for me, as I am not used to seeing so many nice looking boats all together, on a starting line. While appreciating all these sails shapes and colors, all this movement, suddenly, the first of many sunsets… and all of these green and red lights around us. It looks like the shelves of our galley; red peppers on port and green ones on starboard, always nice to have some "marine décor" down below…
After our first dinner out at sea all together (remember, the peppers are only for décor…), first night watches; now the "other ARC" has begun.
We wish all the crews and all the boats fair winds and a nice crossing. It is all about enjoyment!
"Sea" you soon! … in the other side.
