Hanse Sailor - Bad with the Good
“26:46,17N 24:48,50W”
Day three saw the sea sickness come to the front with 24 knot winds and
heavy waves hitting us all over the place . We say the mistakes come to the
forefront when someone decided to use the baby wipes for toilet paper and block
the forward toilet , spending a few hour trying to unblock that made even the
skipper head for the cockpit . However
The wind stayed going for 24 hour , the waves decreased and we started our
attach on Calypso and Mortan only to hear the bad news of Calypso loosing their
steering and making the hard decision to turn back after consulting with La
Contenta who kindly stood by and made sure that everything was ok with her. Now
only Montan with a crew member having a fan club here on our yacht we perused
them only to loose them from Ais. we set sail for La Contenta. great night broad
reaching at 8 to 10 knots , fantastic night sailing gets us well on our way ,
The morning brings us new winds but more easterly making the planned route not
possible so we headed up and stuck up the spinnaker for a few hours of 15 to 20
knot run before agreeing that we wanted it for lighter sailing later so down it
came . Everyone recovered from the past 2 days and we are going to decide if to
gibe and head south after this morning weather forecast .
