Day 13 part 2: Sitting, Waiting, Wishing

 

We have been sitting, waiting and wishing for wind now for over 40 hours.  Its been a long 40 hours.  Over the last day our total mileage was 8, and every bit of that we had to work for. The sea has been glassy with wave like undulations moving in different directions, the surface covered in small ripples.  These waves vary in size and are quietly incessant. The ocean reminds me of the desert with the sand dunes appearing fixed but constantly changing in response to the wind.  Its mesmeric to watch the waves and to allow your body to follow the gentle movement of the sea.  It’s meditative. Sitting, waiting, wishing.
