The wind we found yesterday morning deserted us around lunchtime so at 1600 we made a concerted effort to go as far south as the diesel tank would allow based on the ARC daily forecast and positions of the southern fleet and at 10 pm we found a 15knot wind from the SE and have been moving along nicely ever since - hooray
iPad and plotter say 1150 nm to go so maybe we can get there by 16th
More successful bread making today and crew morale much improved by the increase in wind and potential arrival on time but if there is any more wind going we will have some please.
For some reason the very relay decided not to play last night so we didn't charge the auxiliaries until we notice fed and reset the charging system - maybe the solenoid was stuck or maybe the coil contacts were dirty - with way it's all working now and batteries charged
We have enough diesel to charge the batteries every other day for maybe 2 hours if we have no more than 10 days t go but we will probably need more dig out the generator more often and hope the solar panels can keep up with night time demand - mostly from the fridge
Anyway much better all round today and hopefully we can start to enjoy it a bit
