Lexington - 6/22/2017. Savusavu

We are in the Copra Shed Marina in Savusavu, Vanua Levi island which is part of Fiji. We rented a car so we drove to the other side of the island in the morning. We went to a town called Labasa. The other side of the island is flatter. For that reason they grow sugar cane and vegetables there. We saw numerous loads of sugar cane on the road. On the other side of the town was a large sugar mill with probably 100 or more trucks waiting to unload their cane. We also saw a lot of log trucks loaded with logs of pine and hardwood. There were numerous gardens growing vegetables, kava growing, oranges, kasava (tapioca). I will attach photos from along the way. May fair winds fill your sails with fun and adventure! Bob
