Another day of 4-10 knots of wind and any discussion of consequence on board is where we should go. At 3 knots it does not mater that much as progress to anywhere is slow... so we decided to use the engine and shape a course to SW where all the GRIB models agree the wind will fill in first. But not until Day 7 is over as well.
So we have had a swim, catching up on a few movies, baking bread and reading. We did not see anyone all day until Vega appeared on our AIS and I finally had a good radio discussion:
Viljar of Vega, aged 5, wanted to know if I had any fireman Sam toys on board. Askild, aged 8, reported that he was not bored and that they have had a nice swim today. Sigrid, aged 11, asked me a few questions on a Christmas play she wants to set up. She needs a 'nisse' and a few rats. I have plenty of them when we get to St Lucia, I said. Eventually, Oddvar, aged 40 something, confirmed our conclusion about wind appearing first S of the rhumb-line.
Our sailplan now is more set to reduce flapping and chafe and to get a steady boat so we can sleep well. And this is how we enter day 7 and hope the wind fills in soon.
