Blue Bayou - A day at the races

Given our stunning progress so far, we decided to have a day off today to let the rest of the field catch up. So we embarked on a game of round the cans in a lively s westerly. (Note to editor - s westerly? Thought this was the ARC?)
The sea built nicely as we headed to the first mark, which was WNW. We rounded that and headed for the next can, due south, but frustratingly found ourselves heading SSE, towards the east of Cape Verde. So we tacked again into what by now very lively seas, to make the mark. At that point, some 12 hours later, we retired and took the softies option of SSE again to restore our sanity. Wrong direction unfortunately, but at least on that tack the chance of being thrown out our bunk is slightly less.
Net result: chundering crew, a few bruises, dented pride, and back to where we started.
But the good news is we caught a braw Mahi Mahi during the race and I got it all to myself for tea.
I’ll see if I can tempt the rest of the crew with the leftovers tomorrow if they ever surface.
