Rubikon - Day 13 - Wind - exclamation point
The night brought decent winds and waves from behind, giving us a smooth night with - what felt like - good speed.
Our AIS (the system used to detect other ships at sea and provide our position to them to avoid collisions) had some issues this morning, prompting us to deploy our backup-antenna and in the process finding a lose connection. With that fixed we seem to be back on track, in terms of technology and water usage. Overall atmosphere on board seems still a bit reserved, but a good lunch should take care of that. Hopefully.
As we continue to zoom towards St Lucia, we all had an attempt at beating our technology by giving our best estimates for our arrival (date and time we will cross the finish line)
Chris: 12.12.17 12:00h
Kai: 12.12.17 06:00h
Max: 13.12.17 08:30h (with an original estimate of 10:30h)
Alex: 13.12.17 10:29h
José: 13.12.17 10:31h
Markus: 13.12.17 09:00h
Martin: 13.12.17 11:11h
The winner will be bought a drink. Or two or three or four or five....
While at it we also, once again, submitted guesses on our VMG (kn):
Martin: 6.1
Kai: 6.3
Chris: 6.1
Alex: 6.4
José: 6.2
Max: 6.3
Markus: 5.8
Thats all for now. Time to go back to sleep and relax some more.
