Zaurak, Day 5, 7th June 2018
Just before our watch this morning there was a cacophony of beeping from various corners of the boat. The four days signal-free black out was over. We all received so many lovely messages that we almost missed an event happening simultaneously, that is to say: Land ahoy!
Richard and I replaced Claire and Adrian on watch. Despite the roaring wind and heeling angle they had managed to finish their audiobook. Goodness knows how because for the next 3 hours all I could focus on were the rolling waves, keeping upright and laughing at the intermittent rain shower of salty water flung into the cockpit. Unfortunately at this point, our two fair weather pigeons, obviously dissatisfied with the new conditions of their board and lodging, took to the skies and have not yet returned.
The pilotage plan has been sketched, the Spanish and ARC flags have been hoisted and Bayona is in sight.
See some of you on land very shortly!
