To start s/y Lunni ARC blog, I want to say it is so nice to read all the ARC blogs collectively here.
We are a Finnish family of two boys 9 and 11 years taking part in ARC+ on our Colin Archer type boat made in Finland. Our trip started three years ago from Helsinki towards the South, before that Lunni stayed on the Lake Saimaa in Finland for many years.
We have made some changes for the boat here in Muelle Deportivo Las Palmas, mostly for getting the boat more safe and convenient for the crossing. Made for the Northern latitudes, Lunni keeps the heat inside well, so now we wanted it to cool and had new hatches to the roof of our pilothouse to get some more ventilation.
We have received valuable help from engineer Hillar Kukk who has skippered his own yacht round the world, participated ARC twice and sailed across the Atlantic 7 times. Hillar helps with all the repairs (phone
