Good morning from the Italian team of Anita, currently
sailing direction 300 degrees, position 19.25.843 North, 30.46.245 West. We
have been sailing south west with frequent gybes. Unfortunately, three days ago
we broke our gennaker with a big cut in the top section. This slowed us
significantly both in terms of boat speed and wind angle, as we cannot use our
poole any longer.
The climate on board is positive despite the gennaker
problem. We are currently trying to repair it. We enjoy the Atlantic waves, the
good food (not only Italian pasta), music and the total absence of phone calls,
emails, whatsapp messages and other contacts with the outside world. We have
been fishing three dorades and lost many more fishes due to the boat speed.
We had a water leak problem in one of our aft cabins three
days ago, which was fortunately solved after it took us some time to understand
where the water was coming from. We enjoy the ARC updates for meteo and our
position in the regatta, even if unfortunately in the last few days we lost a
few positions.
Regards to all the ARC friends
