MR - Day 10: In the middle of the Atlantic

It’s halftime! Nine days after departing the marina of Las Palmas we have passed the official halfway mark and are located right in the middle of the Atlantic between the Canaries and St. Lucia. We celebrated this achievement with Cadbury chocolate and non-alcoholic champagne. The chocolate was at the perfect soft but not melted stage.
Also, we continued the ongoing optimization process of the sailing boat and focused today on increasing the speed over ground. Therefore, we inspected the trimming of the sails and analyzed which sail setting works best for which wind angle. As a result, we were able to leverage our speed to an average of 7.1 knots today. Unfortunately we don’t have a down wind sail and are happy with our current speed based on the sails we have. We had a great sunny sailing day and hope that the weather conditions remain stable for the next days.
