Cassiopée W - Log Day 2 - 1st Night Watch
Surreal is the only word to describe it. It is 3:20 in the morning and the moon deserted us a while ago. So no horizon line. The stars just fade and then nothing! Well, not so true; I can distinguish three mast navigation lights around us: Babsea and Chao Lay are keeping us company. There is a third vessel behind us but it’s not on AIS yet. Seas are calm and wind is slowly attenuating. We certainly can’t complain about the conditions and I absolutely love it.
Despite my earlier habits (and anticipation), I just can’t bring myself to put on music. This calls for the masters of my night passages, Pink Floyd. But it will have to wait as for now, the mesmerizing sound of the gentle sea and breeze are just too much.
Signing off for tonight, JF
