Captain worked on a minor electrical issue that popped up just as we left Vuda Marina. I cleaned, and then for lunch we packed a picnic, kayaked ashore to the beautiful beach. We found a sweet spot in the shade, had a visit from five of the local children who explained to us that every Friday afternoon they ride the boat here where their parents live, and every Sunday afternoon they make the return trip to the village to go to school for the week. We lolled about on the sand, enjoying this bit of paradise. This has been my favourite part of Fiji! The only thing that tempers our enthusiasm is that when the wind dies down about midnight to around nine am, the boat swings sideways to the swell and it’s very rolly here.
