Selkie - A poem for Leg 1

“Company”

~for the 2019 ARC Baltic Rally

~during leg 1 to the Pearl of the Baltic, Rønne


As sunrise smoothly paints

and stretches watercolors,

when the wind is gentle

but the sails bulb full,

when sea deep, wide, and long

water fill the lines and helm

in hand with history,

when the cobalt surface

and the water tension hold

to separate two worlds

and peacefully work them

together, I am in sailing

in good company.
