Double Vision - Log day 8
Morale was flagging a little due to light winds, and dropping towards the back of the fleet so we succumbed to the iron sails on Thursday for 6 hours. Food still good, although a near disaster as the fridge was switched off for a few hours. A ‘root cause’ analysis suggested that the ‘holes in the Swiss cheese’ were: Chris Tibbs’ great teaching on the sextant inspired the skipper to practise his noon site skills but he accidentally switched the fridge off with the storage box of the sextant. Due to defrosting of some of the meat, the quartermaster has banned fishing, and it is chicken for every meal until we throw it overboard bored of it. Under spinnaker with some wind at last, so everyone happy, and probably too fast for fishing anyway.
