Skyelark of London - Half way
Day 11
Just come hotfoot from the ’halfway point’ crew party. A fine meal of roast lamb
followed by peach crumble with custard, yum! Special mention to chefs Dan and
Em.
Fine sailing conditions maintain with winds around 15 to
22 knots. The swell running yesterday has eased to comfortable proportions and
good VMG is being made. This morning’s deck shower on the foredeck remained
challenging however. We seem to be disturbing a lot of flying fish these past
couple of days, I’m very impressed by the distance they can travel above the
waves.
The traditional crew ETA prediction competition has
taken place, with answers veering from the wildly optimistic to ultra
conservative. Dawning on me that a lot of action could be occuring on Friday
13th, could be interesting....
